Unions NSW are selling Currawong, the idyllic workers’ holiday retreat on Pittwater to developers, Eco Villages, for $15 million. So far, only a deposit of $1 million has been paid. However, rezoning and subdivision plans have already been submitted, which, if approved by the Planning Minister, will see the public excluded from Currawong as it is turned into an exclusive enclave for the wealthy.

34 privately owned blocks
24 new homes up to 12 metres or four
storeys in height

9 Heritage listed cabins to be redeveloped to up to twice their current size and height and sold to individuals

“refurbishment” of the Heritage listed original farmhouse, “Midholme”

A 10 metre children’s pool
A gymnasium

The destruction of a unique, iconic site, wholly recommended for Heritage listing in 2007.
Damaging environmental impacts on the land-
scape, bushland, wildlife, sea grassand Na tional Park.
The loss of the only affordable family accommodation on Pittwater.
The Basin is crowded every weekend.

Currawong offers a one-off chance to provide another magnifcent public recreation area on Pittwater.
The opportunity to preserve this beautiful site would be gone forever.
