The Friends of Currawong believe:

That the iconic Workers camp ‘Currawong’ should be placed in its entirety, on the State Heritage Register.

The Heritage Council of New South Wales has also recommended Currawong be listed in its entirety.

However, Planning Minister Frank Sartor may disregard the Heritage Office and its experts and allow this site to be handed over to developers.

Why Friends of Currawong Object   Currawong's future is now in Frank Sartors’ hands because Currawong, the humble workers' holiday camp has been declared a Part 3A State Significant development.
The Heritage Council wants Currawong placed on the State Heritage Register for a good reason, Currawong meets an exceptionally high five out of seven of the criteria required for listing. An item need only meet one to be successfully listed.
